Because of ActiveRain, I Have 327 Webpages Now!
As of today, I have been blogging actively for exactly ten months. I started here on August 4th, 2007. I have been a relatively prolific blogger during my stint, and I have tried to cover an array of topics on my blog (real estate, family, tutorials, etc.).
I have a total of 456 posts, some of which are Members Only. The reason that I categorized many of them in that way is because they are contest announcements, recaps, etc. and they may include links to other Members Only posts which couldn't be accessed by the general public. I have actually gone back and edited many of my early stuff to make more posts public.
Yesterday, when I was thinking of writing this post, I started to count my public posts, which of course are not all real estate-related. I got about halfway through and got tired of counting, so I extrapolated and figured that I now have roughly 327 pages from my blog which can be found by pretty much anyone.
The Google indexing of ActiveRain pages remains quite fast, at least in my experience. Posts that I have written can generally be found within an hour or sometimes in a matter of minutes. Since late August, I have used www.StatCounter.com to track my traffic for this blog, and I have received 117,154 page views from 64,805 unique visitors since then. Clearly, this is a phenomenal return for a FREE marketing source. Yes, I have invested my time, and happily so.
Blog posts are unique - they are part of a whole, but each Public post also stands by itself as a webpage which has the ability to draw someone in further for a look around, or to cause someone to call or email me with questions.
The more I write about Austin real estate, or about anything for that matter, the more potential opportunities I am developing to be found by buyers and sellers.
I have had decent monetary success with my blog over the past 10 months, and I am currently working with several clients who came from referrals from fellow AR members and some direct contacts, too. In fact, today I was contacted with a listing referral in southwest Austin.
That being said, blogging is sort of a longer-term strategy, in my opinion. When the overall market makes a strong turn for the better, I hope to be positioned to capture as much business as possible. When that happens, I will be thankful for the hundreds of webpages in the blogosphere that will drive clients to me.
