March Inspired by Song! Contest ("My First Concert") - Announcement of Winners

It's that time again already?  Yes, it's time to announce the winners of the March Inspired by Song! contest

I would like to thank all of the participants for entering.  As with all of our contests, each entry will receive 200 bonus points, in addition to the regular 200 points for posting.

SO, who are this month's big winners, anyway?

Well, take a look below......

LINDSAY PENDLETON - GRAND PRIZE - 1000 BONUS POINTS

My First Concert

Lindsay's entry included tons of self-deprecating humor, which is a sure thing with our particular judging panel.  Her visit to see "NKOTB" was memorable indeed.  Thanks for taking us along on your trip down memory lane, Lindsay!

Now, presented in alphabetical order by last name, here are the five honorable mentions for March:

LISA BOSQUES - 500 BONUS POINTS

My First Concert

Lisa's first concert experience (Queen in 1982) was one that I would have loved to attend.  We are apparently the same age, and I felt myself a bit jealous reading this entry until the ending.

MELISSA GRANT - 500 BONUS POINTS

My First Concert

Melissa's Aerosmith adventure reminded me quite a bit of some of the things I did as a teenager, worrying my own mom.

LISA HEINDEL - 500 BONUS POINTS

My First Concert

The lineup for Lisa's first concert was absolutely phenomenal.  I will admit that I would readily pay to see any one of the FOUR acts that she saw that day.  Fleetwood Mac was the headliner, but all of the others supported tours of their own.  Great stuff!

JIM LUDES - 500 BONUS POINTS

My First Concert

Jim's post about seeing Ozzy in 1996 was terrific.  If nothing else, he deserved to place for this line alone: Nothing says metal like having your daddy drop you off in the parking lot.  Well played, Jim.  Also, kudos for being the only male winner this month.

MIDORI MILLER - 500 BONUS POINTS

My First Concert

Midori's bittersweet tribute post about her sister Crystal was touching.  Her 1980 Cheap Trick/Molly Hatchet concert memory was visceral in its description.  Congrats, Midori!

Again, I would like to sincerely thank all of the other contestants.  I will be forwarding a list to Bob Stewart for point distribution in the next day or two.

Have a great weekend!
