Family Reunion - TWO Milestones this week! - 1/12/08

Welcome to "Family Reunion", the weekly recap for the Family Ties group.  As the title of this post indicates, we reached two milestones during this week.  We passed the 200 mark for subscribers,  increasing from 187 to 204 members this week.  Additionally, we passed the millenium mark for posts, moving from 992 up to 1067 posts! Welcome to all new members, and thanks to those who posted!  Keep in mind that any member of the group can invite other members to join.

Below is a selection of my some of my favorite posts to appear within the group over the past week or so, including one of my own.  If you like any of the posts below, please consider subscribing to the author's blog.  You will not be disappointed, I assure you.  I subscribe to all of the bloggers included here.

My son turns 12 today.... by Charles McDonald

Charles wrote a short post dedicated to his son's birthday and the fact that his son is becoming a great young man.

Tossing My Discs With the Young'uns   by Martin Abeshaus

Martin makes his second consecutive appearance here.  This time, it's a brief post about impressing his daughter's second grade class with his crazy-mad disc golf skills.

New Year's Day Polar Plunge with Clients    by Cynthia Tilghman

Cynthia also appears for the second time in a row.  This is a cute post about her daughter's polar bear swimming abilities.

Well How Do You Like That?      by Lisa Bosques

Lisa's post can serve as a reminder to all of us about the importance of following up and staying in touch, even with family members.

I Re-MEME-ber You   by Adam Waldman

Take a minute to read Adam's engagement story.  It is well-written and involves references to Meatloaf and Styx.  It is worth your time.

The Garden   by Paul Slaybaugh

Paul shows more of his sensitive side in this poetic effort.

More Quotes from My Children by Jason Crouch

I assume that the title of this post should be self-explanatory.  I hope you enjoy it!

If you haven't joined or even visited the group yet, here is the description that I wrote there to give you some idea of what we are all about:

First question: Is this a fan club for the 80's sitcom? No. I just wanted to think of something memorable for this group. This is meant to be a fun place to escape the daily drama of the real estate industry. Please feel free to post any family stories or lessons here. We envision this as a great place to share funny stories about kids, marriage, siblings, parenting, or anything family-related. Posts may relate business to family life, or they may be about striking a healthy balance between career and life. Welcome to Family Ties!

So come on over and check it out!  We're like one big happy family in this great group!  If you aren't visiting this group, I can assure you are missing out on some terrific writing.  I look forward to seeing you there.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!

Here is the last wrapup, in case you missed it:
