I Love My Daughter's Artwork - Just a Post to Brag on My Kid

While we were doing some cleaning and organizing over the weekend, my wife and I found a rather large number of drawings that my six-year old daughter had created over the past year or two.  Both of my older kids have always enjoyed learning about art, and since they're homeschooled, I think their knowledge may actually surpass my own in this area now.  My wife is an excellent teacher.  My kids are sometimes better at identifying artists than I am, and they are usually quick to say, "That's Pointillism." or "That's abstract impressionism."

My son did a great rendition of Salvador Dali's melting clock picture the other day.  However, my daughter seems to revel more in art and its creation.

I wanted to share some of my daughter's pictures with you, because I think they are cute and they always seem to have a lot of personality.

This one made all of us laugh yesterday because it just seems like the cutest ferocious dinosaur ever conceived (the caption reads, "T REX").  I think I like the teeth and hands most of all.  It will probably be on the "Wall of Fame" at my office soon.

This is "Piggy", which she created completely out of letters and numbers.  You should be able to spot the backwards E, two W's, an M, a 9, and an O.  This seems remarkably creative to me.

Meet "Swirlybird", not that he needs any introduction.  I love this one.  Enough said.

I like the pure childlike joy that she captured here, along with the increasingly lifelike fingers and toes as you move up the page.  What's with that oversized finger?  I'm glad you asked.  I spoke with the artist and she said, "This is just a nonsense picture.  Write whatever you want."  Spoken like a true professional!

I may do another "art show" for her in the future.  She is very prolific, after all.

Thanks for taking time to check out these sweet pictures.  I appreciate it.  If you are interested in purchasing any of the above pieces, I'm sorry to note that these were done for a private collector.
