500 Bonus Points AND a Chance to Win 5,000! New Contest - "Memories of My Childhood Home"

I am happy to announce a new contest with the a very unique theme:  "Memories of My Childhood Home".  Much like the local video contest that we just had last month, this will give the opportunity to win 5,000 (FIVE THOUSAND!) bonus points for the 1st place winner.

What are we looking for?

In a nutshell, we just want you to share your stories about the place (or places) where you grew up.  I intend to write my own piece, although my "entry" will not be eligible to win.

Please don't worry about whether your story is a happy one, although it certainly could be.  We are looking for authenticity.  If you have touching stuff to talk about, don't be afraid to post it.  Everyone grew up somewhere, right?  Tell us your story.  This should be a fun exercise in writing for all of us.

  • All entries must be submitted between now and midnight Central time August 4th (just as August 5th is beginning.

  • Only one entry per person will be allowed.

  • Post your entry in the groups Family Ties and Dedicated Bloggers, along with any other groups that you want to use.

  • Post a link to your entry in the comments section below. Otherwise, we have no way to locate all of the entries.  If you

The judges will be Liz Moras, Paul Slaybaugh, Debe Maxwell, and me.

Although the judges are free to comment on any and all of the entries, any comments made during the contest will not be an indication of the final results.

Grand prize winner - 5000 points

Second place - 3000 points

Third place - 2000 points

500 points just for entering the contest (These points are in addition to the 225 points that you receive for every post, and whatever bonus points that you get for comments from Active Rain).

Let me know if you have any questions.  I hope to see a lot of great entries this time!
