This is my 800th post on ActiveRain. I spent a lot of time and effort writing original content over the past couple of years, and I wanted to take a minute today to answer a question that has been posed to me many times:
Well, aside from the friendships, referrals, teaching opportunities, publicity in local and national press, and my own radio show about social media, I have one terrific indicator that it's all worthwhile - actual clients find me.
Before I say this, please understand that it is to encourage, not to brag. Last year, over half of my income came from my blogging and social media efforts. Presently, I am working with FIVE clients who found me here first.
I met yesterday with two different families who are looking to move to Austin from New York. I have another client who decided on my neighborhood based largely on posts he read on my blog. I just listed a home this past week for a fellow member of AR (in another industry, of course). THIS STUFF REALLY WORKS!
In fact, this past week was so busy that it's the first week since 2007 that I was unable to write for six full days. Too busy to blog? In a word, yes.
P.S. I promise that I will soon post some new baby pictures, since I have been besieged with requests!
