MEME'd!!!

I was meme'd while I was out of town on my birthday (Adam Waldman got me this time), and I just realized that I never actually posted a meme back then.  So, here goes:

I was born and raised in Dallas and I was educated in private school from the first grade through college.  I moved to the Austin area in 1988 to attend Southwestern University in Georgetown.  While I was in school, I met my beautiful wife on the dance floor of an Austin club.  We were married in Jan. 1993, and we have three kids, ages eight, six, and 17 months (boy-girl-girl).  Our kids are homeschooled for LOTS of reasons, which would probably better be spelled out in another post sometime.

I enjoy reading a LOT, and so does my entire family, including the baby, although she still makes us read to her :)  We have thousands of books in our home, and the kids have almost half of them, by my estimation.

I played football in high school (defensive end).  This was fun because my job was simply to sack the quarterback if possible.

I love 80's music.  The night that I met my wife was "early 80's night" at that club.  Maybe that has something to do with it?  I don't even mind admitting that I liked Culture Club, Duran Duran, and Dexy's Midnight Runners, along with Spandau Ballet.  If "True" comes on the radio, I will sing the entire thing out loud.

I will cry at the drop of a hat if I see a sad movie, commercial, read a poignant story, etc.  I realized when I got to know my dad before he died that this was something I clearly inherited from him.  He was worse than me, which means I will probably be even more teary-eyed when I get older, I guess.

I LOVE having kids, and I would welcome a fourth child if we are able to have one.  Kids really give my life more meaning and joy.

I can't fix anything at all around our house.  Thankfully, my wife is very handy.  I can change air filters or lightbulbs, and that's about it.

I guess that is all I feel like writing since it is getting late now.  Enjoy -
