My New Favorite Business App

I have a good friend who recently asked me if I often have to scan documents and send PDF files. The answer, of course, is yes. As a real estate broker, I probably scan 10-20 documents in an average, "busy" week. I have a scanner at home, but it's not ultra-fast. At the office, I typically fax stuff to myself using eFax, which converts the document to a PDF then sends it directly to my email.

I now have a solution to a problem that I didn't even realize I had.

Enter Genius Scan, which is quickly becoming my new favorite FREE app for the iPhone.

Genius Scan enables me to scan documents from my phone and email or fax them from anywhere. It even automatically enhances and brightens the photos to make them more legible.

One of the marketing taglines for Genius Scan says, "A scanner in your pocket". This is simply truth in advertising. Over the past two weeks, I have scanned handwritten contracts, a large-format survey, real estate addenda, and more. It has saved me a good deal of time already.

I love this application. It's also available for the Android.

I don't often go out of my way to recommend specific apps, but this one is well worth your time. Also, it's tough to beat the price.  :)
