Georgetown, Texas Church - Come Visit Christ Church PCA (Presbyterian Church in America)

I am excited to announce that there is a new church that we have formed in Georgetown, Texas.  Not long ago, we decided to become involved in a new church plant with the associate pastor from our previous church.  I knew that he would eventually have his own congregation, and I feel blessed that it ended up being close enough to our home that we could participate.

Whit Anderson is a terrific teacher, and having spent the past year in a great discipleship group with him, he is a loyal friend as well.  I look forward to watching the church blossom and grow under his dynamic leadership style.  That is a photo of him to the right along his wife, Heather, along with their cute daughter Abbey.

We had our first "official" meeting and Bible study this past week, and we will be meeting on Sunday evenings until the spring.  The goal is to have a regular morning service by around April.

For now, if you live in or near Georgetown, Texas, and you are looking for a new church, or looking to check out church in general, this would be a terrific and low-key place to visit.  We are meeting from 6-8pm Sundays next to the Run-Tex store just south of the square on Main Street.  It is a nice and clean place, with an upstairs apartment for childcare, but we are looking for a more permanent solution (i.e. larger) before we begin meeting on Sunday mornings.

The main website is http://christchurchgeorgetown.com/ In essence, PCA is the more conservative reformed theological branch of the Presbyterian Church.  A quick summary of our beliefs can be found here (also on the website):

Distinctives of the PCA

  • Focus on the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the only pathway to life change
  • Relevant teaching based on sound theological principles
  • Loving message of grace, acknowledging man's brokenness
  • Entrepreneurial spirit as one of the fastest growing denominations
  • Historically connected, thus lending an air of credibility
  • Faithful to the inerrant word of God
