Two-hundred Fifty Thousand Points! (250,000)

This is just a note to thank all of my subscribers and friends who regularly comment on my posts.  This post will put me over 251,000 points.  I started here on August 4th, 2007, and I have written over 460 posts in that time.

I remember being thrilled when I hit the 20,000 mark, then 50,000, and so on.  Each milestone brings its own set of memories, although not all of them require a post.  :)

For new and newer members here, I would like to point out that the more posts you write and comment on, the more you will be read and the more comments you will receive.  I am blessed to have 615 subscribers as of today, which actually surprises me whenever I really think about it.

One thing I have realized is how fun networking can really be.  I use a couple of other networking sites, but none with anywhere near the frequency of ActiveRain.  Facebook is kind of fun, but I feel limited with what I can do there.  The same goes for Twitter, in my opinion.  I know that I have heard some stories and endorsements for other platforms, but AR is the best for my "money" (read: time).

I am meeting this weekend with some buyers who were referred to me via AR.  It will result in just over $1 million in sales for me from one client (one sale, one purchase).  THIS is why I stay here.  I have worked hard to establish myself as the "go to" guy in Austin, Texas, and it seems to be working.

Blogging is both a short-term and a long-term strategy.  In the short-term, I have had a number of referrals and some paychecks, but in the long-term, I have attempted to position myself for when the market makes a move in the right direction.

Thanks to all of you who have supported, encouraged, and complimented me over the past ten or so months.  I never realized how much I really enjoyed writing until I started here.  Now, I am working on a couple of book ideas!

Have a terrific day, and thanks for taking a minute to read my somewhat self-indulgent post.

God bless you!
