This is my 400th post on ActiveRain, according to my profile. I enjoy milestone posts, because I can look back sometimes and see my progress.
Please bear with me, as I don't have a huge "concept" for this post - I just wanted to write something to commemorate it.
It's a beautiful spring day here in the Austin area, sunny and about 82 degrees, with a nice breeze. Frankly, it's the kind of day that makes me happy to be alive.
Tomorrow, we will be celebrating my daughter's 7th birthday (it was a few days ago). My wife took the older kids to shop for new bikes, and I am here at the house with our two-year old, who is napping. It's nice to have the house (sort of) to myself for awhile.
(UPDATE: I just finished taking a nap with the baby after getting her back to sleep. Everyone has returned now. Where did the afternoon go? Wow - I love naps, which is ironic, since I hated napping when I was a kid.)
I am now on the notebook computer in our breakfast room, listening to my "Beatles" station on http://www.pandora.com/. If you haven't discovered Pandora yet, I would highly recommend it. You can customize your own commercial-and-DJ-free online radio station by choosing an artist or song that you like, then ratings selections from their catalogue. It's fun!
I have some buyers that I will be meeting with soon, and today could be "decision day" for them. I guess I need to type faster.
On my 300th post, I had promised to include a picture of the ripped abs from the movie "300" (which I did). Despite the requests to do this again, I decided not to go that route this time around.
As with my last milestone post, I want to take a minute to thank my subscribers (518 of them now!) and regular readers. I wouldn't have stuck around if people weren't reading what I wrote.
If a writer writes something which is not read by anyone, does he make a sound?
Thanks to AR, I continue to accumulate referrals, leads, and good friends. Can't do better than that, I suppose.
Have a good one!
