Happy 2008! A brief look back and forward

I would like to take a minute or two (as we are less than two hours away from the new year here in Texas) to wish all of my Active Rain friends and subscribers a very happy new year!  I look forward to more networking and fun here on AR in 2008.  I don't really have a well-planned message for this post, which is frankly very typical of the way that I compose my blog.

In nearly five months on Active Rain, I have made some friends that make me laugh so hard that I feel like I am in grade school again, dribbling milk from my nose.  I have also made some awesome business contacts that inspire me and help keep me focused on my career goals. 

I have had a few referrals already, and I hope to give and receive a lot more in 2008.  Additionally, I have had several clients find me through my efforts here, one of which closed earlier this month.  I am slated to meet with two others in January who found my AR blog and felt comfortable contacting me.

I must admit that before August, I would be hard-pressed to name even one agent outside of my market that I would feel comfortable referring my friends or clients to, but now I have a slew of friends in other areas that I feel confident would do an awesome job handling any business I could send to them. 

I won't even try to thank everyone that I have befriended, as I am likely to forget someone and I don't want to offend.  Suffice it to say that if you know me or see me around here very much, you are appreciated. 

When I started here, looking at some of the point totals seemed ridiculously daunting in the Austin area, but I soon discovered that diligent effort and consistency will pay off quickly.  I became the #1 agent in Austin for points about a month ago, and I am now #5 in Texas. 

I hope that anyone reading this will accept my heartfelt gratitude for your support of my blog, and I want to extend a very sincere message of hope, optimism, and success for the upcoming year to you and yours.  May God richly bless you and your career as we move forward into a new journey with the turning of a calendar page.
