Comfortable shoes?

I was just curious about "Crocs", which by all accounts are very comfortable shoes.  I have seen people of all professions and ages wearing them.  Usually, the men that I see wearing them have them in a muted color, like black or gray.  However, while my family and I were shopping at the outlet mall today, I saw a guy who looked a good deal like this:

And he was wearing these:

Yes, they were this color (sort of a lemon yellow?).  At any rate, it made me realize two things:

1. This man must be VERY confident.

2. These shoes must provide him with an exceptional shoe experience.

Any thoughts or comments?  Is comfort simply more important than style or even taste?  I can understand getting a pair of these for one of my daughters, but I wouldn't be able to leave the house wearing them myself.
