More media exposure from my ActiveRain blog! Interviewed by Realtor Magazine

Let me clear something up before we begin.  The cover of "Realtor" Magazine shown below is not the current one.  In fact, it is from the month that I started on ActiveRain - August 2007.  Just FYI.

I recently taught a class about social media, and in order to answer the question, "Why do you do this, anyway?", I gave a sample list of publications that have contacted me for interviews since I started blogging here about a year and a half ago:

  • Austin American-Statesman
  • Austin Business Journal
  • Texas Realtor Magazine
  • Realtor Magazine
  • The New York Times
  • The London Times

Not too shabby, huh?

I also have people sending me free books and other stuff and giving me free accounts so that I will write about them or talk about them on our weekly online radio show, "Twitter Tuesday".  I like free stuff!  Who doesn't?

At any rate, back in December I was interviewed for Realtor Magazine, and apparently the article was written for the March 2009 "Brokers Only" version of the publication.  They had found an old post of mine, which should serve as motivation if you're wondering about the long-term value of blogging.  Here's the post she called me about:

How to Properly Leave a Brokerage - Am I wrong to expect a call?

Here's a link if you are interested, although the data is a little off.  We didn't specifically downsize from 25 agents to 19.  We currently have 20 agents, but I didn't fire 6 agents - some people just had to leave the business in 2008 for financial reasons:

Thanks to ActiveRain for providing such a solid platform for burgeoning bloggers.  Thanks for reading!
