How My ActiveRain Efforts Have Brought Additional Exposure!

I could easily write several posts on this topic, but since I've had so many different opportunities this past month that have arisen from my blogging lately, I decided to write a post about all of them at once.

And yes, that is a picture of my actual thumb!

REALTOR MAGAZINE

I received a call from a reporter with Realtor Magazine late last month.  She had seen this post of mine: How to Properly Leave a Brokerage - Am I wrong to expect a call?.  She wanted to talk about my experience in two areas: agents who leave, and letting agents go when the time comes.  We had a nice discussion, and she said that some of the material will appear in her article in the March issue.

AUSTIN BUSINESS JOURNAL

This interview came from a combination of AR, Twitter, and personal contacts.  The guy writing the article is someone I had met before, but he had seen my blog and noticed me on Twitter as well.  He wanted to interview me about using social media to market real estate!  He wasn't sure when the article would appear, but promised to let me know so that I could see it (and use it to show clients!).

TEACHING GIGS

I was approached this month by two different local title companies to help teach others about blogging and social media.  One of them wanted me to participate in a "roundtable" discussion, although after speaking with the rep, it sounds like I might serve as the entire panel by myself!  The other sales rep wants me to teach a class on these topics in early February.  Both will probably be paid opportunities (from the attendees).

AUSTIN BOARD OF REALTORS

I was recommended to the Austin Board of Realtors as a "thought leader" in the area of technology trends for Realtors, and they requested that I serve as a facilitator for their upcoming social networking forum for that topic.  Needless to say, this seems like a very cool chance to connect with other local agents, both for the exposure and also as a potential means of recruiting.  Obviously, I agreed to participate.

I certainly hope that this is encouraging stuff for those of you who are newer to ActiveRain.  The potential here cannot be overstated!
