I was thrilled beyond measure to see that the AR guys came through once again for their members yesterday. By implementing an auto-save feature, they have likely saved many future headaches for members, especially for newer members who haven't had the pain of losing a post yet.
When you are writing a post now (before posting to "Draft" mode or any other Visibility setting), you will see some orange text at the upper right-hand corner of the text box which states:
Of course, it won't always say 10:51. It will state the current time. Best of all, it automatically saves your post as a draft EVERY 10 SECONDS while you are working!
Although I was burned enough times in the past that I figured out it was better to periodically post it as a Draft or work in MS Word or some other word processing program on the off chance that the site had proxy errors, etc., this is a FAR more convenient option.
Needless to say, I tested this feature several times to see how well it worked. I started typing this post, then just refreshed the page randomly at various places. I lost a word or two, but the remainder of the post stayed intact.
For those of us who have felt the agony of losing a "masterpiece" in the past, only to have to re-craft the entire thing, this is truly a blessing.
I would like to personally thank whoever came up with this feature. This was a very nice early Christmas present.
Thanks for reading!
