My 500th Post! Learn a few new facts here!

I was somewhat surprised to realize that I have already composed 500 posts here on ActiveRain since starting here in August 2007.  I will celebrate one year in "the Rain" on August 4th.  Since I had one post before actively participating, I decided not to count that one, so this is actually #501.  My profile shows 515, but some of those were directly to groups and some were deleted (testing different stuff).

At any rate, I would like to thank all of my friends, regular readers, and subscribers, and some who are in all three of these groups, sort of like a Venn diagram, right?  Since I made a relatively obscure and nerdy joke there, I must now post a photo of a Venn diagram in an effort to explain:

So sue me.  I was a bit of a math geek in high school, having won the algebra AND geometry awards in 8th and 9th grade.  Yes, really.

Lest I allow this post to devolve into a math lesson, I would like to share a few facts with you about the number 500, just because I feel like it, and because I have a history of doing this during my milestone posts.

Speaking of history, THAT was a subject that I did not enjoy in school.  Enough.  On with the fascinating trivia facts:

• 
  
• The Indianapolis 500 is one of the top three premier motorsports in the world, along with the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix (the x is silent).  As a bonus fact, I have never once watched this event.
  
• There are two different card games with 500 in their titles, and there is an outdoor game played with a football, frisbee, or baseball also called 500.
  
• 500 is the code for an internal server error in HTTP.
  
• 500 is represented by the Roman numeral D.
  
• The #500 film on the Top 500 list from Internet Movie Database is "The Barbarian Invasions".  Since it is a foreign language film, I have never heard of it, nor is it in my Netflix queue.
  
• Rolling Stone Magazine named "More Than a Feeling" by Boston as the #500 song on its Top 500 Songs of All Time list in 2004.  Check out the video!  The lead singer has a pretty impressive 'stache.  In a move that surprised precisely no one, they chose Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" for the top spot.
