ActiveRain Gathering in Austin, Texas - The Date is Set! You are cordially invited to join us...

I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about the possibility of a gathering here in Austin in August.  The response was even stronger than I had anticipated, so we will be getting together after all. 

Please keep in mind that this is NOT limited to members in this part of Texas, or even within Texas at all.  At least one out-of-state member is attending.  If you are able to come, we want to meet you!

Here are the details as of today:

DATE: Saturday, August 16th, 2008

TIME: Probably all afternoon.  I was thinking of starting around 11 or 12, and hanging out until 5 or 6pm or perhaps later. 

PLACE: TBD.  This will really depend on how many people commit to attend.

COST: Not that much, unless you are planning to have a lot of margaritas or Shiner Bock (Tom Plant, that was for you).

WHO CAN COME: Anyone who wants to join us.  Feel free to bring your kids if you want to - I may bring mine.

WHO IS ALREADY COMING: I know that my wife and I will be there, along with Tom Plant and his newly minted fiancee Laura, Judi Morgan, Deb and Scott Brooks, Melody Botting (right?), Tricia Jumonville, Ricki and Don Eichler, Liz Carter, Alan Kirkpatrick, Paul Lynde, Rodney Allen Rippy, Brad Pitt, and the Solid Gold Dancers.

Okay, in fairness, I am still waiting to hear from Rodney.  From what I understand from Judi, there may be a special guest appearance, since the 17th of August is my birthday, but time will tell.  I think we will probably invite some of our Austin non-AR friends to join us, too.
