How You Can Help the Victims of Tornadoes in Tennessee

My friend Vanessa Stalets wrote a post today detailing how to send aid for the victims of yesterday's tremendously destructive tornadoes that ripped through several states, including her home state of Tennessee.  Since we are limited to just five groups on Active Rain with our posts, she asked me to help her spread the word about this in other groups and on my blog.

Please consider taking a look at her post and donating if you are in a position to do so:

Active Rainers, TN Needs Your Help! Please Help Us Help Them!

Any amount would help with the cleanup and for the displaced families!  The current death toll from these storms stands at 55 tonight according to Reuters news service, but it is expected to climb further as cleanup efforts begin.

The number to call for donations is 615-321-4939 or you can visit http://www.newschannel5.com/Global/story.asp?S=7836176  for more information.

Thanks for your time and consideration!

EDITED: Our friend Melissa Grant made a comment that I felt was worth including in this post:

Donate blood, too! This is just the beginning of a long storm season.  Blood is in critical supply.

This is an excellent point and one that I frankly hadn't considered.  Thanks, Melissa!
