FAMILY REUNION - Super-Sized Edition - Just in Time for Christmas! - 12/21/07

Welcome to "Family Reunion", the weekly recap for the Family Ties group.  The group continues to grow each week.  We increased from 164 to 169 members this week, and from 780 to 861 posts!  Welcome to all new members, and thanks to those who posted!  We are currently #9 on the "Most Active" groups on Active Rain.  Keep in mind that any member of the group can invite other members to join.

Here is a selection of my some of my favorite posts to appear within the group over the past week or so, including one of my own.  If you like any of the posts below, please consider subscribing to the author's blog.  You will not be disappointed, I assure you.  I subscribe to all of the bloggers included here.  This week, there were so many good posts to choose from, that I decided to increase the number of spotlighted blogs to 12.

Don't Take The Girl by Danny Thornton

Danny's post brought me to tears, and the video added to the raw emotion contained here.  This is a must read.

Better Days...   by Jessica Horton

This poignant post is an excellent reminder about which things are truly important during the Christmas season.  I would recommend reading this one while you play the music video that Jessica provided.

Happy Birthday Christa Noelle Caulk   by Missy Caulk

Missy's birthday post for her daughter is lovely.  They are clearly good friends in addition to being mom and daughter.  Make sure you check out the video scrapbook, too.

Moving With Children During The School Year  by Adam Waldman

Adam uses a personal story to dispel the myth that it is best for parents to move when school is out.  His family moved right before Christmas over 30 years ago, and it was a great experience for him and his siblings.

Traditions by Kim Wood

I think this may be the first post that I have read by Kim, but I really enjoyed hearing about her family's Christmas traditions.  It makes me want to develop more of these for our house.

TEQUILA CHRISTMAS COOKIES  by Mana Tulberg

What a great recipe from Mana!  I may even try this one out myself, as it may work well during particularly stressful times in real estate.  (NOTE: This recipe should be followed very carefully.  :-) )

An Attitude of G . R . A . T . I . T . U . D . E .    by Mirela "m&m" Monte

Mirela has compolsed a terrific post about being thankful for what we have been given.  I LOVED this post.

Dogs On The Loose- A Great Way To Meet Your Neighbors!  by Shannon Lefevre

Shannon's fun post will give you a look at her great personality, and it will probably put a smile on your face as well.

Peanuts, Pecans and Fun, Oh My... You don't want to miss this display! by Candace Robinson

Prepare yourself for an awesome mega-post of family traditions and tasty recipes!  I only wish I lived closer to Candace so that I too could participate in "Christmas Cookie Day".

For EVERYONE who is searching and waiting...... by Elizabeth Nieves

Elizabeth shares a very personal letter written to her beloved husband before they even met.

The Slaybaugh Files (2 Much MeMe for YouYou)  by Paul Slaybaugh

This is probably among the very best and funniest memes that I have read in my time on Active Rain.  Do NOT miss this one.  Detailed and hilarious.  Great job!

Time-Traveling Real Estate Broker Visits 1987!  by Jason Crouch

I decided to take a trip in the DeLorean to see myself at age 17.  I hope you enjoy my attempt at creative writing.

If you haven't joined or even visited the group yet, here is the description that I wrote there to give you some idea of what we are all about:

First question: Is this a fan club for the 80's sitcom? No. I just wanted to think of something memorable for this group. This is meant to be a fun place to escape the daily drama of the real estate industry. Please feel free to post any family stories or lessons here. We envision this as a great place to share funny stories about kids, marriage, siblings, parenting, or anything family-related. Posts may relate business to family life, or they may be about striking a healthy balance between career and life. Welcome to Family Ties!

So come on over and check it out!  We're like one big happy family in this great group!  If you aren't visiting this group, I can assure you are missing out on some terrific writing.  I look forward to seeing you there.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!

Here are the last couple of wrapups, in case you missed them:
