Born and raised in Austin, Rebekah is a true, native Austinite. She has fixed and flipped homes from Austin to Leander, but now enjoys living in Liberty Hill with her nerdy husband, their two halflings, and a motley crew of pets. Her hobbies include photography, wood working, hunting and archery, repurposing unwanted / reclaimed materials into art and furniture, drawing comics and superheroes with her kids, writing Science Fiction and Young Adult novels, and working towards her black belt in Taekwondo.
Graduating 4th in her class from Austin's own Lanier High School Rebekah went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Minor in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin. She has held certifications in both Event Planning and Floral Design, and for six years owned a well-loved Floral Design studio that served hundreds of Austin and Hill Country brides before having to leave the business due to developing a severe allergy to flowers.
Rebekah believes that community service is not just a decision but a way of life. She enjoys regularly donating time and a percentage of her commissions to various non-profits and is an active supporter of Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society after losing her mother to breast cancer. She enjoys raising funds for the Wounded Warrior Project as well as St. Jude Children's Hospital through participating in obstacle courses / mud runs such as Tough Mudder and Warrior Dash. She is currently training for the Tough Mudder Half and Spartan Super coming in April and May 2016.
